Views of lakes, rivers and streams are numerous and many accessible from the trail. The trail also passes through northern hardwood forests. Common wildlife to the trail are deer, raccoon, red fox, porcupine, weasel, mink and bobcat.

Heading north into Walker, go through downtown, at the last set of stoplights, which is county road 34, take a left. You will take an immediate right onto county road 12. The trailhead is two blocks down.

Parking is available at the trailhead.
