Lake Bronson State Park

Trail conditions:

Ski trail grooming has ended but crust skiing will be good on cold mornings. Ski trails were groomed this winter by a volunteer in cooperation with the Friends of Lake Bronson State Park.Snowmobile trails are hard/icy or soft/slushy depending on the temperatures. Bare spots showing up in open areas.Vehicle access to Lake Bronson is not allowed due to dam operations. Ice conditions are variable so use caution if going on the lake by foot. Slush is being found on the east end due to all the snow.

The trail(s):
The trail runs through prairie land as well as rolling hillsides. Deer, squirrels, and snowshoe hares are common wildlife to see along this trail. Snowshoeing is welcome, but please stay off of the groomed trails.
You can snowshoe anywhere in Minnesota's state parks and recreation areas, except on trails that are specifically groomed for another activity, such as skiing or snowmobiling.


  • A warming area with flush toilets is available at the Visitor Center.
  • Winter camping is not available.

The trailhead is two miles east of the town Lake Bronson on county road 28. Look for park entrance signage along road, follow main park road to parking area.

Parking is available in several locations through out the park.
