The trail runs along an old railroad bed. Mainly flat with trees and wetlands. Snowmobiling is only allowed west of Stubbs Bay Road.

Getting there
Snowmobiling begins at Stubbs Bay Road. At that location there is a parking lot and the trailhead for snowmobiling. Directions to Stubbs Bay Road from the west Metro area, take Highway 394/12 west through the City of Long Lake to Old Crystal Bay Road. Take Old Crystal Bay Road south to Watertown Road. Take Watertown Road west to Stubbs Bay Road. Go South 1/4 mile to trail parking lot on the right. From Winsted (Hwy 261) go east on Co Rd 9 to trail head.
Parking is available at Stubbs Bay and Winsted trailheads. Parking is also available at Hennepin County 92 for snowmobiles and trailers.
