Trail conditions:

The warm spring weather has melted most of the snow throughout the park.Snow conditions are changing to spring conditions with some areas with snow, slush and icy conditions along with bare spots appearing along the trails. Due to the warm weather, the snow has melted quickly. Hiking trails are open with some areas of wet, muddy and areas of remnant snow and icy conditions on the some sections of trail surfaces. Ski and snowmobile trails are closed due to the lack of snow. Please note that the Trail Center warming house will remain closed until further notice.

There is a mixture of hardwood forest and open spaces with rolling hills, some steep.
You can snowshoe anywhere in Minnesota's state parks and recreation areas, except on trails that are specifically groomed for another activity, such as skiing or snowmobiling.

Facilities:

  • Warming house open on weekends 9-4
  • Ski passes are sold at the park office.
  • You may find rentals in Detroit Lakes and Fergus Falls.

Trailhead is located seven miles east of Pelican Rapids on Highway 108.

Parking is one fourth mile south of park office.
