Trail Snow Report
Maplewood State Park
The park received another 10" of fresh snow this past week. The 1-mile Cataract Lake Ski Trail was groomed on Friday , Feb. 15th and is in good to fair condition. The Trail Center to the Main and Knoll Campground was groomed on Sunday, February 17th and is in very good condition. The ski trails have been packed on Tuesday, February 12. The eastern section of the campground trail is partially groomed and was packed on Feb 23th with no partial track-setting. Please note that drifting is prevalent along some section of trails, due to strong winds and recent blizzard conditions. Snowmobile trails were last groomed on Friday, February 15th and are in excellent condition. Snowshoe conditions are excellent with over 26" of snow. Please contact the park for further updates. Please use caution driving on park roads as high snow banks limit visibility and icy patches are present on snow compacted roadways.On Saturday February 23rd, please join us for the Annual Candlelight Ski, Hike, Snowshoe event from 5:30p.m. to 8:30p.m. The one-mile Cataract trail will be candlelit and the Friends of Maplewood State park will provide chilli, and hot beverages at the Trail center.

There is a mixture of hardwood forest and open spaces with rolling hills, some steep.
You can snowshoe anywhere in Minnesota's state parks and recreation areas, except on trails that are specifically groomed for another activity, such as skiing or snowmobiling.

- You may find rentals in Detroit Lakes and Fergus Falls.
