Maplewood State Park

Trail conditions:

The park has 28" of snow in the woods. Maplewood received an additional 4 inches of fresh snow on Sunday , January 23, 2022. 5 miles of ski trail have been groomed as of Monday, January 26, 2022 and are considered to be in good to very good condition with areas of drifting along sections of trail due to recent strong winds. Snowmobile trails were groomed on January 20, 2022 and are considered to be in good condition.

There is a mixture of hardwood forest and open spaces with rolling hills, some steep.
You can snowshoe anywhere in Minnesota's state parks and recreation areas, except on trails that are specifically groomed for another activity, such as skiing or snowmobiling.

  • Ski passes are sold at the park office.
  • You may find rentals in Detroit Lakes and Fergus Falls.

Trailhead is located seven miles east of Pelican Rapids on Highway 108.

Parking is one fourth mile south of park office.
