Snow Depth and Groomed Trail Conditions
Maplewood State Park
Trail conditions:
The park has approximately 22" of snow in the woods and prairies. Ski trails are not groomed. West snowmobile trails were groomed 3/15. The park received an additional 6" of snow on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. The Cataract Trail 1-mile loop ski trail has been groomed as of Thursday, March 23, 2023 and is in very good to excellent condition. Additional ski trail grooming will be delayed until further notice.

There is a mixture of hardwood forest and open spaces with rolling hills, some steep.
You can snowshoe anywhere in Minnesota's state parks and recreation areas, except on trails that are specifically groomed for another activity, such as skiing or snowmobiling.
Facilities:
- Warming house open on weekends 9-4
- Ski passes are sold at the park office.
- You may find rentals in Detroit Lakes and Fergus Falls.

Trailhead is located seven miles east of Pelican Rapids on Highway 108.
