Snowmobile trails in great condition. Riders, use caution there are still places with low hanging branches and trees. Ski trails are not groomed. This will take time and resources, please be patient. As soon as DNR staff can start clean up, we will update this page.

The trail(s):
Trails pass through rolling hills and hardwood forest. Wildlife in the park includes pine marten, songbirds, wolves, bear and deer. There are 5.4 miles of groomed cross-country ski trails and 3.5 miles of ungroomed trails that are recommended for snowshoeing, winter mountain biking and winter walking. The warming house is closed this year. Winter backpacking and snowshoe rental may be available - call the park office for information. The nearby Remote Solitude Forest Day Use Area has 5.7 miles of groomed skate skiing trails and 6.6 miles of ungroomed, packed trails. You can snowshoe anywhere in Minnesota's state parks and recreation areas, except on trails that are specifically groomed for another activity, such as skiing or snowmobiling.
Facilities:
- Warming house is closed.
- Ski passes are available for self-registration at Park Headquarters.
- Snowshoe rentals are available at Park Headquarters when open. Hours are intermittent this season and staff recommend to call ahead; 218-419-1501.
- Savanna Portage does offer winter camping. Call to make a reservation 218-419-1501.

From McGregor, take Highway 65 north to county road 14. Follow 14 ten miles to the park entrance. Remote Solitude Forest Day Use Area is one mile south of Savanna Portage State Park on county road 14.
Parking is located within the park and at Remote Solitude Forest Day Use Area 1 mile south of the park entrance.
