Trail Snow Report
Taconite State Trail - Grand Rapids
The first 10 miles or so starting from the Itasca County fairgrounds in Grand Rapids are poor and patchy with a thin snow base as they are heavily used. On 3/9/18 the trail was groomed from Grand Rapids to Highway 65. The section from Highway 65 to Highway 73 was groomed on 3/8/18. Trail maintenance crews as well as logging or other crews may be on or around the trails so watch for signs, people, and machinery. Also watch for ice patches and bare or muddy patches as the snow melts. Always ride with caution.
