Whitewater State Park

Trail conditions:

2.5 inches of light fluffy snow was received on Saturday, January 23rd. Total amount on the ground is currently around 5 inches. We have seen both people with snowshoes and hikers with shoe spikes out and about on the trails.Snowshoe rentals are available at the Visitor Center as long as there are 5 inches or more of snow on the ground.

The trail(s):
The trails travel across wooded hillsides and along the Whitewater River. You may cross country ski or snowshoe anywhere in the park, however we will not be grooming ski trails at this park.


  • Snowshoe rental is available at the park office once there are 6 or more inches of snow on the ground.
  • Winter camping is available, contact park for details.

There are various places to access the trails. From Elba, take Highway 74 three miles south to the park entrance. Check in with the park office for different trail accesses.
