Snow Depth and Groomed Trail Conditions

Putnam/Fishing Lakes - Bear Island State Forest

Trail conditions:

We are finished grooming for the season. The warm weather this week, along with the rain, has depleted our trail base to the point where grooming is no longer possible or beneficial. Use extra caution as pockets of open water may start developing in the swamps. Also be aware of developing ice flows, slush pockets throughout the trail, and watch out for exposed rocks and ground throughout the trail as Spring conditions continue, especially watch out on hills and in areas exposed to the sun. Please slow down and give trucks and logging equipment space. No Motorized Vehicles other than snowmobiles are allowed on State Trails or Grant-in-Aid snowmobile trails.
