Special Regulations on Area Lakes

Lake, (county), and current regulation

Alexander Lake (Morrison County) Northern pike: All from 24-36" must be immediately released. One over 36" allowed in possession.

Bass Lake (near Burtrum, Todd County, north of Long Lake) Walleye: Possession limit two. Largemouth bass: Possession limit one. Northern pike: Minimum size limit of 26".  All fish larger than 26" must be released. Possession limit three.

Big Swan Lake (Todd County) Northern pike: All from 24-36" must be immediately released. Bag Limit 6. One over 36" allowed in possession.

Black Bass Lake (Mille Lacs County) Use of gas or electric augers, aqua-views, and other electronic fish-finding devices are prohibited. Largemouth, smallmouth bass: Catch-and-release only. Northern pike Catch-and-release only. Sunfish: Possession limit five.

Cedar Lake (Morrison County) Walleye: Possession limit two. Black crappie Possession limit five. Northern pike: Maximum size limit of 26”. All fish larger than 26” must be released. Possession limit three.

Fish Trap Lake (Morrison County) Northern pike: All from 24-36" must be immediately released. One over 36" allowed in possession.

Green-Prairie (Fish) Lake (Morrison County) Sunfish: Possession limit 10 (Effective March 1, 2016).

 

Little Sauk Lake (Todd County) Walleye: Possession limit 2 Largemouth bass:Possession limit 1 sunfish: Possession limit 5 Black crappie: Possession limit 5 Yellow perch: Possession limit 10.

 

Long (Higgins) Lake (Todd County) Sunfish: Possession limit 10 (Effective March 1, 2016).

 

Long Lake (Todd County) Northern pike: All from 24-36" must be immediately released. One over 36" allowed in possession.

Maple Lake (Todd County) Sunfish: Possession limit 10 (Effective March 1, 2016)


Moose Lake (Todd County) Largemouth bass: All 12" and larger must be immediately released. Sunfish: Possession limit 10 (Effective March 1, 2016).

Pierz Fish Lake (Morrison County) Largemouth bass: All 14" and larger must be immediately released. One over 20" allowed in possession.

Platte Lake (Morrison/Crow Wing Counties) Sunfish: Possession limit 10 (Effective March 1, 2016).


Shamineau Lake (Morrison County) Northern pike: All from 24-36" must be immediately released. One over 36" allowed in possession.

Sullivan Lake (Morrison County) Sunfish: Possession limit 10 (Effective March 1, 2016)

Mississippi River Blandin Dam to Coon Rapids Dam (Itasca, Aitkin, Crow Wing, Morrison, Benton, Sherburne, Wright, Anoka, Hennepin Counties) Muskellunge Catch-and-release only.
