The purpose of the Division of Enforcement weekly report is to promote the activities performed by Division of Enforcement personnel in protecting Minnesota's natural resources through effective law enforcement and education. Information is gathered from the Division's 18 districts as well as various subsections and compiled and edited by the Division public information officer.

Featured Update

CO Matt Miller (Lake Superior Marine Unit) checked a few boaters trolling for salmon and shore anglers anxious for rivers to open. A call was taken of a deer chasing a dog. The aggressive deer head-butted the dog and then briefly went after the owner walking with the dog. A mix of environmental, seasonal, and historic influences most likely led to the deer’s bizarre behavior. ATV operators are reminded there are seasonal closures in place to protect trails. Enforcement action was taken for angling and ATV violations.
