Calling experienced and new hunters
The DNR has a new mentorship program in partnership with LearnHunting.org to share the passion of hunting and shooting with new adult participants.
Hunting and shooting sports provide thousands of Minnesotans with safe, fun and quality recreation with family and friends each year. Through these activities, people can get outside, connect with nature and work toward skills that will last a lifetime.

Experienced hunters: We encourage you to sign up to be a mentor on LearnHunting.org and share your skills and knowledge with new hunters in Minnesota. Spending time with someone who hunts is the best way for new hunters to learn. Share the basics of hunting in a low pressure, one-on-one environment.
New hunters: Have you wanted to give hunting a try, but didn’t have anyone to go with, or weren’t sure what steps to take to get started? Sign up as a new hunter on LearnHunting.org and you’ll be paired with a mentor who is excited to walk you through each step, answer questions and get outside to hunt or shoot with you.
