Every attempt was made to timely locate all of the maps for the underground mines in the project area, but many of the underground mines operated nearly 100 years ago, and the potential for lost, destroyed and incomplete map sets is high. Undocumented mining and undocumented underground trespass were likely. The maps were drafted by hundreds of different mine employees, working for hundreds of different underground mines, over many years. The potential for mistakes and inaccuracies is also high.
