Late fall hunts in parks

Many state parks have managed deer hunts through the end of December. Public access to parks varies during these hunts, and some do close to non-hunters. Before you leave home, know which parks still have hunts scheduled and plan accordingly.

Even though there’s not ice in most places, the water is dangerously cold this time of year. If you’re on it, make sure you’re wearing a life jacket. It’s one of the best, but not the only way, to stay safe and improve your chances of surviving an unexpected fall in.
