Stay safe on the ice, and the trails
Winter is here, which means people will be itching to get out on their snowmobile or onto the ice. While early snow is a boon for snowmobile riders (grant-in-aid trails open Dec. 1; keep safety top of mind) it can mask thin ice and impede ice creation. Thinking of heading out? Check the ice frequently and have all your safety gear.

Give the gift of adventure
Adventure is hard to gift wrap, but it’s quick and easy to send a Minnesota state parks gift card or e-gift card! Perfect for both seasoned outdoor enthusiasts and beginner explorers, gift cards can be used for camping reservations, vehicle permits, tours, I Can! programs, rentals and much more.

Hunting in state parks
Know before you go: Many state parks are still hosting managed deer hunts in December and January to help control deer populations. Public access varies during these park hunts, so check the park hunts page for dates and safety information.
