Make firearms and tree stand safety the top priorities
Each year, hunters are injured in firearms- and tree-stand-related hunting incidents. As archery deer seasons continue, and the regular firearms season looms on the horizon, all hunters should double down on safety. That means always handling firearms safely, checking all tree stand-related equipment before heading out, and focusing on each step into and out of the tree stand.

Grants for Urban and Community Forestry
The DNR is accepting applications for $12 million in grants to help communities plant, protect, and care for trees across the state. These Community Tree Planting and ReLeaf grants will support local efforts to address the impacts of emerald ash borer and grow healthier, more diverse community forests.

2025 hunting regulations
Hunting season details and regulations now are available for 2025-26. Visit the hunting page and download the regulations booklet and fold-out deer map. Printed booklets are now available.
